It is with a sad heart that we at Duffy’s Aircraft have learned that our friend and fellow aviator Roy Shwery has passed away. As more details become known we will pass them along. Our hearts and prayers go out to Roy’s family.

Fly-In Breakfast at Neillsville Airport Sept 19th, 2010

Sealcoating project begins this week

Runway 16/34 the long runway at Marshfield will be undergoing a sealcoat project begining Wednesday August 5th. It is anticipated that the runway will be completed by August 6th or 7th.

The runway will be closed when Men and equipment are present.

Flightwise.com Contest Gives Local Pilot A Free Apple iPad

Flightwise.com, a provider of online aviation services and flight tracking decided to have a contest through the social media outlet Twitter. They would take a random Twitter follower out of the first 2,000 followers and award that person an Apple iPad. Little did Jeff Gaier know when he decided to follow Flightwise on his twitter account that he would be awarded an 16 gb internet Apple iPad.

“One morning I checked my account and noticed someone sent me a message through Twitter on my Twitter account. At first I thought it was a scam, but I knew of Flightwise.com on the internet. In fact working at the Marshfield Airport and Duffy’s Aircraft Sales and Leasing, we have used some of Flightwise services in the past. So I contacted them through email and to my surprise found out I was a winner in their contest. “

Flightwise.com offers several iPhone and iPad applications for these devices. Gaier says, “I use Flightwise.com’s MyRadar App to check on radar in the area. It is a free App and anyone can use it. “

When asked what he will do with the iPad, Gaier replied, “My wife Liz and I will be using it for mostly our personal enjoyment.”

We Need Your Help

The Marshfield Municipal Airport would like to extend runway 34 / 16 to 6,000 feet. However to do that we have to show justification for the extension. As you may or may not know Hwy 10 south of the airport is being relocated and along with that is County Hwy BB. This presents the airport with the perfect opportunity to extend the runway.
